For Once
For when the world was against you For ...
From the narrow lanes, to the wide paths
From the plant pots, to the green grass
From the miserly hearts, to the surplus yields
Roz sat in the car, to ride to the village fields
He looked at the sky, so clear n blue
Freshness in the air, adding to the hue
He touched the soil that is the food bearer
Roz felt a tinge driving him nearer
Lush green fields beckoned him
Giant tall trees welcomed him
An ox by the cart smiled at him
Roz swirled a stick in the water furrow, calling the explorer in him
Mango, guava, promegranate, fruits to munch
Rice, wheat and its straw, stacked into a bunch
Pumpkin, brinjal, ladyfinger, the vegetables galore
Roz's taste buds waiting for it all to savor
Roz played with the lambs, baby cows and chicken
His eyes sparkled at the affection with their brethren
Aunty milked the cow and handed him the drink
Roz gulped the creamy milk down in a blink
Off to the city, off to the fast paced world
Roz's mind meandering on the village road's twists and twirls.
