For Once
For when the world was against you For ...
As it dawns, my sleep gives way
I recharge my mind for the brand new day
Defying the mental odds, I get on my way
To the jogger's paradise guarded by the rustic gate
I slip through the bars not to make the cringing sound
To merge with the fellow joggers bustling abound
Once on track my mind plays the flute
To be one with nature and determination astute
My miles are accomplished and body energized
I walk past the gate with a smile galvanized
As luck would have it, I look around
To have a glimpse of the savior of my imaginations profound.
